The Evans Heavyweight 14 Snare Head features a thick 2 ply construction with reverse centre dot for added durability, focus and attack. Ideal for hard hitters.
If youre a heavy hitter or just want to make sure you have a snare batter head that can stand you in good stead, the Evans Heavyweight is a great option.
Featuring 2 plies of 10mil film, this super thick head has optimum durability and a super compressed attack. This is not at the cost of a decent dynamic range though.
Adding further to its durability, the Evans Heavyweight has a 3mil reverse dot at its centre which serves to not only add extra strength but also to add focus and attack to the sound. If you play with brushes, dont worry! The reverse dot is fixed to the underside of the head so that it wont interfer with brush playing.
If you want a snare sound with a suppressed attack, short sustain but lots of tone and of course with added durability, the Evans Heavyweight is an ideal option.
Level 360 Technology
As with all Evans drum heads, this Heavyweight drumhead features unique Level 360 Technology.
This technology means the rim of the drum head has a vertically enhanced collar which ensures balanced contact with the shell bearing edge. This results in a proper contact between the head and the shell ensuring a consistent fit so that the head won't damage easily or lose tension. The rim of the head also features a roll-over hoop designed to improve the strength and stability of the head without diminishing performance.
This technology ensures a more consistent head to shell contact that provides a wider range of tuning, better responsiveness and resonance, and a stronger, longer lasting head. Whats not to like?
