General The RP10-3 is the heaviest active monitor from KRK's popular Rokit series. This three-way active studio monitor produces a full, dynamic and astoundingly detailed sound. As such, it is not only suited for larger home and project studios, but also for professional use. The monitor is of a considerable size, which means you can also put it on its side. RP10-3: three-way The KRK RP10-3 studio monitor has a three-way sound reproduction system. This means it is equipped with three separate drivers that all have their own amplifier. The RP10-3 has a 10 inch woofer for low-range tones, a 4 inch driver for mid-range tones and a 1 inch tweeter for high-range tones. As the highs, mids and lows all have their own driver, the RP10-3 has an extensive combined frequency range, and the individual drivers can produce more sound with less power. The result is a detailed sound with less distortion. Placement and the front panel The Rokit RP10-3 can be used both horizontally and vertically, because the tweeter and the mid-range speaker are placed in a unique, rotatable housing. Simply remove the screws, tilt the housing and re-apply the screws and your monitor is ready for horizontal use. Another distinctive feature of the RP10-3's housing is the curved front panel, which prevents internal resonance and widens the 'sweet spot'.
